Vonetta Rain shares her inimitable black experience from being born in Boston to becoming an Emmy Award winning graphic designer turned revered shaman. Vonetta’s interest in shamanism began as a graduate of Cornell University in Cultural Anthropology, but deepened when she was called to be the apprentice of a renowned Amazonian psycho-cartographer and wisdom keeper.
For over a decade, Vonetta has guided thousands of people on their path of healing and awakening. She has led over 800 private and community empowerment retreats around the world, helping thousands of people transform childhood trauma, emotional challenges, disease, depression, anxiety, marital issues and financial stress. Using the power of plant medicinals, ancient and indigenous wisdom bridged with modern science, she helps individuals and communities overcome struggles, return to their hearts, reclaim their joy, and awaken to their true selves. With more than thirty years of experience in established self-discovery and integration techniques, as well as comprehensive study in the yogic sciences, indigenous traditions, therapeutic healing arts, and psychology, Vonetta specializes in developing heart-based leadership models for groups as well as individual mentorships. Her story is a testament to resilience and courage, and a call to create a more beautiful world rooted in love, understanding, connection, and unity.
The Shaman’s Apprentice is her debut memoir.
